Passing Lanes: a hockey rink math game for kids

How to play: You are the passer (P) with the puck. Teammates A, B and C skate on a top-down rink drawn as a grid, and defenders (X) can block a lane. Read each question, then tap the right teammate or pick the answer: 10 passes a game, and 7 completes unlock the next level. Ages 8โ€“10 (grades 3โ€“5) find the closest open teammate and count squares; ages 11โ€“12 (grade 6) judge blocked lanes, shorter paths and percent open; ages 13โ€“14 (grades 7โ€“8) use straight-line distance, midpoints, slope and multi-step choices.

What kids learn: Grid distance, open versus blocked paths, percentages, comparing options, the Pythagorean theorem, midpoints and slope. Made for ages 8โ€“14 (about grades 3โ€“8), with three age levels (8โ€“10, 11โ€“12 and 13โ€“14) and Levels 1โ€“3 in each. Free, no accounts, no ads.
